Melampodium Paludosum, also known as "Sterntaler" (= "star coin"), or "Gold Medallion Flower".First water colour painting in years. Very satisfied with the outcome.

I don't think I've run into this flower before (I handle a lot of plant specimens at my job, so it always surprises me when I haven't seen every plant ever). Thanks for sharing! I especially like the contrast between the blue and yellow. Your painting skills are so enviable!

Oh, I see! I think it's moderately common in middle Europe - but don't nail me on that statement, I'm really no good with flowers/plants (the only flowers I really can tell apart are roses, daisies and... a few other... orz), I just happened to spot a pic of them in a magazine and decided to use them in this pic. >v<
