Background Music: www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0M7FA…This is not FoE canon. I just recreated my playthrough of Fallout 2 with the Littlepip mod (and threw in some Calamity).
When I first walked into New Reno, I immediately had that feeling of depravity surrounding me. That place was creepy and I wanted the hell out of there.
Seriously, for a game this old the atmosphere was simply amazing. Go and play it.
Btw, does anyone have a pony pun name for New Reno?

I totally agree. Never was able to finish Fallout 2, but New Reno was scary as shit. I remember screwing up in a casino a few times and having to fight my way out. And that dude that tries to steal your car...Fallout 2 was probably one of the greatest roleplaying games ever made.

If you like the scary atmosphere of old, abandoned places of post-apocalyptia... why don't you give a chance to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games? You'll get tons of exactly that

I played a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game (don't know which one though. The one where you're dropped of a truck and found by some guy and go on a quest for revenge, etc.).
Anyway, I didn't like it very much.
New Reno felt depraved, full of drug addicts, crime families, thieves, thugs and full of porn businesses.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. felt just dead. And kinda depressing.
Also the gameplay wasn't to my liking (any game with expiring quests is a step in the wrong direction

That's Shadow of Chernobyl, the only one I've played so far, too.

It's actually meant to be that way. The Zone was abandoned becauseof the Chernobyl leak, and only started to grow in population because of the treasure hunters that started to come 3 years ago. That's nowhere near enough time to create a community.
And to be fair, all the expiring quests are simple optional side-jobs. The real stuff doesn't go away until it's done.
