Description
Zion, Barbary Lion. Resident of Zion Wildlife Gardens, New Zealand.This is a graphite and charcoal drawing of the main lion at ZWG, named Zion. He is a rare Barbary lion. Barbary lions are now extinct in the wild, and these fantastic lions are now successfully bred and raised in sanctuaries.
It is A3 size. Time roughly around 21 hours to draw.
I hope you like it, it has been a while since I felt focused enough to draw anything, so I am quite proud of this one

thanks very much. Well i wish I could but I have no clue where I would start. I do commissions though. I'm working on my technique more now, on my newest piece, which is nearly finished... over 20 hours on it and I love how it's turning out so far. Hopefully I can keep my concentration on it until the end without rushing it.
I enjoyed drawing Zion though, such a lovely lion he is!

Wow, you should be proud of it. It's brilliant. That lion is gorgeous, it's so sad that they're extinct in the wild. I'm crazy glad you decided to start drawing again!
