Much to everyone's relief, Kakashi finally returned a week late from his ANBU mission; donning some minor scrapes, bruises and slight charka depletion.

After reporting to Tsunade and squirming away from her onslaught of medical examination, he hurried home.

"It's nothing serious. I'm fine", he told Iruka after once again being fussed over. After a quick shower and a change of fresh clothes and bandages, they settled onto the floor of their shared apartment.

It took a grand total of 2 minutes before he was softly snoozing on Iruka's shoulder.

"You're such an idiot" Iruka said to deaf ears, but could not help the slight turn of his lips as he gazed at the jounin.

"But you're MY idiot", he chuckled softly before allowing himself to finally rest after a week of fitful sleep and haunted dreams.
