During our US south-west trip in early October last year we also spent some time in the rocky mountains and were just in time for the peaking aspen colours.
My friend NicolasAlexanderOtto arrived 2 days before me and got even better conditions because a small storm and early snowfall in the higher areas took down some foliage shortly before I arrived.
Nevertheless I'm happy with what was left of the foliage on the aspen trees, it simply unbelievable how those colourful trees dominate whole landscapes, similar to cherry blossom season in Japan.
And what's better to have a refuge in the middle of the rocky mountains surrounded by those trees?
