Description

Every time I'm exposed to volcanism it's so fascinating for me.
It gives the area a very interesting and distinct shape and due to the mix of minerals which were part of the ejecta different plants grow on the surface, which gives the area also a distinct colour. It's the kind of natural art which impresses me the most!
This aerial picture was taken around Mount Aso in Japan.
On the road with my buddy NicolasAlexanderOtto Β

I feel the same - volcanic landscapes are so interesting! Either active or inactive!

exactly, but active volcanoes can be intimidating, especially if you've heard about pyrolastisc flows, which are hot (500-1000Β°C) gases which travel very fast and destroy everything in their way. I heard that some of them are even out of gases which are almost transparent.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyroclas…
"Despite signs of impending eruption, the government deemed St. Pierre safe due to hills and valleys between it and the volcano, but the pyroclastic flow charred almost the entirety of the city, killing all but two of its 30,000 residents."

Yeah that's mental! My devID pic was taken on the summit of Eyjafjallajokull - the volcano which caused the ash cloud over europe a few years ago. They wouldn't let us summity Hekla cos they're concerned it's gonna blow (10 years overdue or something!?).
