You open yourself up looking for gloryFind nothing nearly as worthy
All it ever gives you is time
Each tick-tock second is another needless worry
A poem within a short story
Maybe it's giving you a sign
You close yourself off to the greater masses
A life full of half-empty glasses
All you wanted is for it to rhyme
Each meddling moment, another disastrous crime
A bright light that makes you blind
Maybe it's telling you "it's time"
Make love to the shower in the morning
Gives you the warmth needed for life
And outside your window the world is storming
It keeps you up all through the night
You open yourself up looking for glory
Find something almost as worthy
All these broken pieces are mine
Each sliver and scar is another endless story
A tale through images too blurry
Maybe you're just one of a kind
