Behold the Urban Gallery of the Manitoba Museum . Developed on the occasion of my locale's centenary in 1974.
Feel the pulse of a vibrant young city at the “gateway to the west” as it was on an autumn evening in 1920. A moment of time in a bygone era is preserved in the wooden boardwalks, railway station, factories, commercial establishments and residents of Winnipeg’s “boom time”.
And here's one of those commercial establishments. [Well, actually, part-commercial and part-private residence....]
Located on the same side of the railway track as the movie theatre, down a-ways thereof, is the home and office of J.G. Garvin, Dentist.
Separation via a front entrance hallway: to your right, the private residence where his wife sits in the comfortably furnished living room; while to your left, the dental office itself where the dentist is currently engaged with that day's young nervous patient......!
.... um.... well, feel free to observe the residence's living room, if you wish, if the dental office starts making you seem squeamish....
A compiled collage of several selected iDevice pics from last year's visits to said Museum.
