He should totally do it, too. Both of them are overrated. One's a demented Joker, and the other had serious mommy issues.

whats is funny is that Empy is so much more badass than sephy and kefka
what sephy did: killed a girl, burned a town...... thats it
what kefka did: destroyed towns, poisoned towns, killed people, killed espers, destroyed world, became a god
Empy:killed maaaaaaany people, destroyed every towns, conquered the world TWICE, plus hell and heaven and became a ''god'' in both realms and tricked the heroes....... heeeeu too many times, cant count them

Oh gee, I wonder why. Maybe it has something to do with the countryside. And peasants.

I recall the story of the rogue who infiltrated the palace and stole away with the princess... But I always assumed that was a previous ruler of the Palace. Nothing saying that Palamecia here was the one who had the castle built.
Though an interesting twist, that the capture of his daughter is what led him to be such a jackass, is there any other evidence that Palamecia was the one with the daughter? The way the book was written, it made it sound like there were many other kings and emperors who set up shop there.

Well, I seriously doubt they'd include a story like that if it wasn't meant to point out the main villain's motive, otherwise it'd be a completely superfluous inclusion.
And the book never actually specifies which emperor it was.
Besides, do you remember the characters saying in-game that no one has ever broken into the Palamecian palace except for one person? Well, there are two: Paul, and the character from the story, which not only reveals that they are the same person, but it also reveals that the event took place during the same generation.

Just that little bit of detail to say "Noone's ever broken into the palace before." Not entirely superfluous.
Hmm, you got me there with Paul... Did they say noone's ever broken in before Paul did? It's been a while. (And, I'll be frank, I couldn't finish the game. The leveling up bored me to tears. So I just watched a playthrough) Or did Paul announce that 'I've done it before.'
If that is the case, then you do have a strong argument. I could say that perhaps Paul's infiltration was something he didn't announce to the world, assuming he just stole some loot, but that really doesn't fit Paul. So while it doesn't spell it out, it does seem to link up nicely.
Of course, that leaves the big question on who Palamecia's daughter is. You'd think she'd have a bigger role in the story.
