In D&D vampire mermaids are possible. Vampires whom originally resided in water do not have trouble in water. It's an actual written rule. I was the one who commissioned this, I loved researchign all I could on making this character possible, along with a backstory to go along with her. The only reason I haven't wrote up a short story to post online somewhere on her is because I plan on using her for another campaign I'll be DMing later down the road.

Sad truth - a lot of those 'fantasy races' were originally down right mean to the point of being evil. Fairies are a prime example. Many of them were 'magical gang bangers'.
