This is based on the old Atari game M.U.L.E. Though I never had an Atari I did have the pleasure of playing the NES port of this game when I was a child.

This is an interpretation what it looks like when you catch the "Mountain Wumpus" in the game. As you can see, the Humanoid is getting ready to catch him off guard. To let him go he'll have to give up his chest full of money, but she'll just come back to catch him again next turn.
