Hmm...okay, my interpretation is that the shy rat is a girl, and she likes the cream-colored guy rat, but is shy. The cream rat is hanging out with some friends and happens to catch the shy rat's eye, and gives a friendly look, but the rat is very shy and not sure what to do! ^^

My interpretation--
The two on the left are fawning over that one with her face squished into her paws, and the rat over on the right feels left out :[. Or likes the girl, but is too nervous to talk to her.
Anyways, I've had this fav'd for a little while... It's gorgeous <3

Aww. It's cute and sort of sad all at the same time. I feel particularily drawn to it because I can relate it to my boys. Kasi lost his brother Nitro (they sort of picked on the other boys). Now he's alone and keeps trying to go down and hang out with Jack, Oz, and Haz-mat. They won't accept him. I hope they do soon!

My Spook is really feeling depressed, and ironically enough the little dumbo in the center was kind of based off of her. About a month ago a rat I adopted from a friend passed away, and just a few weeks ago Rune [who she's been with since kittenhood] also passed away, and those two were so ridiculously close.. Poor girl..

That is so cute and sad all at once. ): The little rat on the right side...isn't that your character? The pose of that one is so precious, and just...you can see the longing. It's so sad.
The other rats do look like they're having a good time. You got so much emotion into these little animals, it's amazing. The one in the middle is my favorite, with the squishy little face and the paws under. <3

The one on the right--yes and no. I wanted it to come off as more of a simple illustration, so I decided to make it less personal [plus I wanted to see how people interpreted it].
