Description This bee was desperately trying to get its metabolism going the whole time I was shooting it.

Tech specs: Canon 1D MKIII (F13, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@ ~2x) + a Canon MT-24EX macro twin flash.

Great shot! Hand held? 

Hopefully the bee absorbed some of the photons frm the flash! I do love the opportunities when they are just getting their motors revving up, it makes me so glad I can just drink a cup of coffee!

Thanks   Just about the only time I can get that close is early in the morning.

All of my insect macro shots are hand held -don't even own a tripod or focusing rail.
