Shot at about .4x with a Canon 70-200 F4 L + a 500D closeup filter and an 81A warming filter.I was experimenting with taking closeups in harsh light. According to the light meter this scene was well over 2 stops under exposed, but I think it was being tricked by the subject. I set the exposure (1/250, F8, ISO 200) based on trial and error. I had a diffused 580EX II camera mounted and set to -2 FEC. I probably should have under exposed the ambient by another 1/3 of a stop and set the flash to -2 1/3 to -3 FEC. More practice...

When I have the funding for it I may come asking your opinion on what type of flash I should purchase for my camera.
I have nothing but the silly pop-up flash and it drives me crazy.

Just about any flash will do for macro. You just have to get it close to the subject and diffuse it.

perfect.all i can find is flys and butterflies that wont sit still..its been a bad month for me.i only have 3 dragon images in my gallery.
