Description Male of Megachile (Chalicodoma) parietina.

Technique: After I photographed this little guy I turned him loose on a flower and while I was eating lunch he must have woken up and foraged. Later in the afternoon this is how I found him, all covered in pollen.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (over 3x) + a diffused MT-24EX (both flash heads on the Canon flash mount, E-TTL metering). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. I used an artificial flower to keep the background from being black.

I could not distinguish between your work and that of snomanda same perfection, same subjects, same angles.

You might like to know that I learnt everything I know about macro photography from Dalantech.

I am still quite new to macro and have a background in Fine Art Painting. I am still searching for my own distinctive macro voice,
and a decent diffuser solution.

Ah well that explains a lot then. So I did grasp the essence quite good. You turned out a good pupil I must say. I am sure you will find your own style

I think our composition styles are different though. I approach macro in much the same way as a portrait photographer. Take another look at Snowy's work and mine and I think you'll see a difference.

Yes I see what you mean though I think that difference is a bit hard to see on this (macro) level. What I essentially see in both your works is a scene with a bokeh and an insect. Technically well performed, don't understand me wrong there.

Maybe it just strikes me because it's a limitation I run against at the moment. I want to change subject at the moment. In fact I am going out for a shopping center thats being renovated today. Just to break the flower and nature spell
