I know right?! I just. I feel so bad (and really shallow) but his chaste Chantry romance doesn't really interest me. But I feel terrible if I make him abandon his goals and retake Starkhaven just for me. (AND EVEN THEN NO SMOOCHIES? WHAT IS THIS, SEB?) D: But he's such a darling bro

Yeah. For me its not really that his romance is a chaste one that throws me off. Its just that we don't even get any bonding or romantic scenes with him really :/ They could have done a lot more with it, even keeping it as innocent as it is, but they didn't. It feels like making him an LI for F!Hawke was just a really sloppy last minute addon that was never given the proper attention it deserved.

Actually, yeah, that's a good point. His innocent romance could have been made far more engaging. Oh, Seb. You had so much potential... I don't really understand the unbridled hatred for him that I've seen though, not at all! Why, what did he ever do?

Honestly I have no idea. I know some things he does may be annoying aggravating to some people, but every character is going to be like that if they are well rounded characters, it makes them more believable. But to hate him entirely baffles me o__o Hes just a devout man caught between his duty to the chantry and his duty to his family who was just murdered. I'd say he has more than enough reasons to struggle with what he should do and make some mistakes along the way....Of course, I don't have much room to talk xD I absolutely cannot stand Fenris. D__D I don't think he's ill-written or anything like I usually do with characters I don't like, I just loathe him. I don't ever go out of my way to do anything terrible to him though, and I still try to get along with him in my play throughs...doesn't quite work.

Exactly-- as far as I'm concerned, he had every right to be confused and upset about what to do with his life. But you can't stand Fenris! Whyyyy? I-- I'm really bad at disliking characters, even if they don't like me. I'm completely unable to rivalmance anyone (or just use the rivalry path, lol) without nearly crying about it because MY BBYS I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU ;____; The nearest I got was with Carver-- but that was more because he's Carver and objects to everything big bro does just on principle. So there. Lancelot (shhhh, that is totally a valid name for a Hawke) rather spent the entire first act spluttering and making puppy eyes and his unimpressed brother, complete with a bit of pouting and lip-wibbling. Probably why Carver didn't like him very much. At least he was a little better when he left to join the Templars. (Lancelot cried. He did, you know.)

Basically, uh, I/MY HAWKES JUST WANNA BE FRIENDS. Oh dear me.

Hahah well, its not like I didn't TRY to like him xD I even set out in one playthrough to romance him...and I never finished that playthough because of it. He just aggravates the heck out of me and fksfdjksfkhj. xD But I'm under no delusion that he's just entirely wrong and unjustified or anything. I'm not like other fenris haters that will just go out of their way to bash every little thing he does. Its just a personality clash, nothing more. -w-

and OMG CARVER xD He's such a little brat but he's like a precious baby I love him to death hahaha

Awww, noes! I did that with Merrill actually-- I tried to romance her and for some reason it just felt so downright weird that I just gave up. She's just. I don't know. I find it really hard to look at her and see a love interest. When she showed up at Lancelot's door (Lancelot being head over heels for Fenris and not in the least bit interested in anyone else...) both he and me totally freaked out because WHAT WHERE HAD THAT COME FROM GET AWAY FROM ME UGHHH YOU'RE LIKE MY NEW BETHANY NOOOOO

Ahahaha, oh my god, I am exactly the same! Bethany is adorable as well, but her, I want to protect even as I treat her like an adult. But Carver is just so precious, I just want to baby him and cuddle him and pinch his cheeks-- and okay, maybe it's really not a mystery why he never likes me...

Haha, I love Merrill (I'm actually working on a cosplay of her now) but I can never romance her in any play through because I feel like I'm hurting Carver because he has that little crush on her, which dear maker I think is so cute. Even in the playthroughs where Bethany is the one that lives, I just can't do it xD

Oh! I forgot about his crush on her, that's just so adorable! Yes, Merrill is so lovely (I can't wait to see your cosplay if you post it on dA!), but oh my god, now that you've reminded me of that I will never ever ever be able to romance her. Oh, darlings. Aww, but Bethany and Sebastian and that little tame flirting thing they have going on is adorable too! I love that the companions get (sort of) romances (especially Aveline's!) if you don't romance them, it's just such a nice thing to add in.

Yes, it was :'D usually in games if you don't romance someone they just end up forever alone, its nice to see your character romance/flirtation development not revolving around the main character only.

Oh, I know. For once, even though Hawke is the central character for us, Kirkwall doesn't actually revolve around her/him. I love my bbys and the fact they get to be happy even without Hawke. And sometimes, as much as it pains me, I wonder whether they're actually happier without Hawke butting in and confusing them and making life difficult...
