Total Time (so far): 4.5 Hours (Longest time for the series project yet)Likes: How she looks like from three paces away.
Dislikes: Lots of things...
Before I even started, I knew Fran was going to be the most difficult. I just KNEW it. Look at her hair and ears and head piece. So much detail... I was doing this at work (because the lighting is better in my cube) today and everyone seemed to pick today to come and ask me for stuff (which is my job, but still)...so now, at least half of my department knows I was doing something with an x-acto knife (which I held up whenever they entered like I would a pen...pointing up...) and a board of black ink and a picture of an furry. -_-;;
Luckily, no one asked questions. (Why question the girl with a sharp blade?) I've decided to re-do Penelo; which came out so crappy, it makes me sad.

i love this picture so much. It is one of the best scratchboards ive ever seen. I love the game too. Even though I cant beat it. (IMpossible ass devil game lol) Im about to start my first scratchboard do you have any suggestions? Tips? anything?

The only tip I have is regarding scratchboards with a face. Always start with the eyes. The theory is that if you do the eyes later and they don't fit in with the rest of the face, all your work is for not, whereas when you start with the eyes, you tend to work outwards to make the rest of the face fit the eyes. That's all I got!
Ooh...that and see if you can get your hands on a compressed air canister to use to blow off the excess scrapings. They save so much time and won't smudge or leave streaks on the ink. ^_^

But in all serious and non-fanboy mode, excellent job. Scratch board is always a hard art medium to do since it's hard to undo any mistakes, but this look perfect.

lol yeah your coworkers were prolly a little afraid of you cause of the x-acto knife. People give me enough weird stay away looks just because of the woodless pencils I use and point with. But then again I point too much so that my be the reason the give me weird looks.

I point with anything. I wont even tell you how many people look at some of my old pictures and ask "What are you pointing at?" and I have to answer "I don't know I point allot. I must have some sort of pointing plauge."
