She's finally here! I am so excited for her She is a custom figurine that I ordered from HK-Gensen . I couldn't be happier with the results and I think she was worth every penny. For these photos I borrowed ~aeronaught 's camera so I could get some nice macro photos. She will live on my work desk from now on

Click download for the full size or you can see some of the photos individually in this photoset

I know this will be asked (and I'm getting tired of repeating myself ) so I will answer: She was not cheap to get made but the price is incredibly reasonable for a professionally manufactured figurine that can be mass produced if there is enough interest. Every figurine is different so every quote will be different. For this 8" prototype figurine the cost is $1,096

I know that that sounds like a lot but think of it this way: When you buy a print at a convention it is sold for, let's say, $5. It is a mass produced print and therefore can be sold at a low price. If, however, you were to commission that artist, the price would likely jump 5-10 times for a custom picture making the price $25-$50. Now, a quality, mass produced figure is about $100-$200 so the obvious jump would be $500-$1,000 for a custom figurine Of course the size of the figure comes into play when pricing it out but you get the idea

Doesn't she look fantastic?!

I've actually been thinking of getting a character of mine made into a figure. How long did they take to make it?

wow, how awesome it must've felt to get a professional figurine of your own OC as though they were an official anime ;0; that's really cool that the company is willing to work with artists for just one figurine. it's expensive, but the pricing makes sense. what an awesome opportunity!
and her eyes tho *-* they look fantastic

Never say never but I dunno if that will happen any time soon. She would cost about $1,200-$1,500 due to her chainsaw @_@

# Wow, If i had the money i to would more and likely get a Figurine like this Made, I Mean she is amazing. And well detailed. The way she stretches. It remind's me as if she's saying 'Reach For The Sky. Don't Let any one ever tell you no' But that might just be me.

Oh wow, the figurine looks pretty legit. The details look great. Sounds like the investment you put into it paid off for you in all forms.

Would I do the same? Maybe... it's probably going to be a matter of when rather than if...

Damaged927 In reply to Idiosyzygic [2013-05-15 11:17:23 +0000 UTC]

She totally is I own a few of their mass-produced figures and they are lovely as well

I totally hear you on that. It was always a matter of when for me (I started thinking about this back in '09 )

What a great figure, it turned out perfectly, I think. Lots of energy and motion in her pose, and it recreated her form well.

Wowza! Stick turned out really well! I'm impressed with the amount of details in the texture they used!

yeah I guess she's cute too but stick really caught my attention... congratulations on the figure I'm glad it all worked out so well for you!

Also, [link] , I can't help but interpret the upper left and bottom right as being one picture, which makes it look like she has a massive arm.

I'm actually rather impressed with Senor Stick as well. The texture looks fantastic. He looks like a real piece of wood

I would pay this price for a figurine of my character if only I had the money. Actually I'm surprised of the price, I thought it would have been way more expensive ! Amazing !

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Damaged927 In reply to AmbreAkasora [2013-04-16 12:18:37 +0000 UTC]

I know right? I was expecting upwards of $2k. She is totally worth it and, if you can save up enough, I consider it a worthwhile investment

Masatog [2013-04-15 11:47:04 +0000 UTC]

Fantastic, it is~
The quality looks much better than the preview they have shown before. I guess it is a nice investment for an item that cannot be obtained anywhere else.

It looks like Hiromi's ahoge looks a bit rough though. Aside from that, the sculpting and paintjob is wonderfully done!!

There is one thing I have learned before, and that is how photos cannot show the true beauty of a figurine.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Damaged927 In reply to Masatog [2013-04-15 12:16:59 +0000 UTC]

You're right, the photos do not do her justice. She looks so beautiful in person I am so happy with her and I will most definitely be doing business with them again (gotta save first )

As for her Ahoge, it isn't as rough as the photo is making it look. I used a macro lens and it shows everything In reality, it looks like 2 strands of hair. Kinda like how it looks like Stick's paint is bleeding on to her hand (which you can see at full size) in the photo but you can't see it at all with the naked eye

omg she's beautiful. ;-; I didn't know of companies that would actually make custom (PVC?) figurines!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Damaged927 In reply to yolichan [2013-04-14 17:44:53 +0000 UTC]

Isn't she? What I am mighty impressed by is how accurately they replicated my style. This is the picture that they had to work with. It is like my drawing became 3D

It's not PVC but it is like it. It is polyurethane but not PVC. It's called "PU". I have no idea what the difference is

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

yolichan In reply to Damaged927 [2013-04-16 02:02:06 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes I've seen that drawing. They really made her come to life, it looks just like her. *__*
Lol I don't know of many figurines done in polyurethane so I wouldn't know either. xD It does look very good though~
