Coming closer to the tragic ending of the 5175 story I can't help to think about another universe where everything went down differently.Where Moriz broke the rules, regardless of the consequences, and just took the kid. In ways Emion would've ended up a better place. The whole Enirgon disaster would never have happened. Countless lives would've been spared, and Moriz probably wouldn't end up being all entangled into the triangle things. But most likely the Neorasa rebellion (that was brought forth by the great Enirgon disaster) wouldn't have happened either. And the world would remain the same messed up place, ran by the same harsh regime and the same corrupted government.
To put it shortly; Not canon, but it's an AU that I'd love to explore one day. Even if only to see Moriz deal with the kid. Hahaha.

Oh, this AU would be actually interesting to hear about. I kinda imagine Moriz thinking of what would happen if he took the kid and the story unfolding by then, only to end up with Moriz realizing that he did the right or the wrong decision of not taking the kid.
The expression on his face is so heartbreaking though

Moriz does consider it in the story as he feels so sorry for the kid. But there's a lot of practical problems. It's against the law so doing so is illegal. Illegal enough to get them both killed (the government isn't too fond of lawbreakers). But in the end he wonders a lot of time if he did the right thing.
And yeah... Fourteen is sad. They lock him up and use him for painful experiments while all the kid wants is to go home.
