Description
This is a self-portrait I did this year containing several elements of my personality and philosophy and whatnot. I spruced it up a bit with photoshop (mostly to get rid of some nasty glare--but maybe a little bit of elaboration as well....).Acrylic on Illustration Board, 16x20"

oh, p.s. I must admit that I'm curious, exactly how do you get those lines so fine? is it just that you use a smaller brush or what? your blending is also very well done, how exactly do you manage to blend it so perfectly?

Pretty much a matter of smaller brushes, I tend to use an Escoda scriptliner in the finest size available for the tiny lines you see, the blending is a mix of glazing fluid and acrylic flow release medium used very carefully.

wow, this is truly beautiful. I love all the different elements that you added in. I'm sure all of them have great symbolism to you. this is a very complex and well done piece. and to do this all with acrylic? that shows massive talent to be able to do this much detail with acrylic paint. fabulous work. it's absolutely gorgeous. keep up the awesome pieces!

I like the lifting and how you imagine yourself creating life in your own hands. But I can't see the meaning of those eyes looking down at you and the table-like globe that you are leaning on.

Ooh, so many textures, and just a touch of asymmetry. Just one thing - it seems as though your palms are strangely devoid of lines. Was that on purpose? I love all the intricate detail; the trees were a very nice touch.
