At first, I thought that was an outstanding HDRI-type ray-traced image. Probably because I'd never think of light in a liquid form.
Simply FABULOUS! Shadows, DoF, colour scheme... Even glows a bit!
Might be even more effective if that spill was brighter directly under the bulb. Anyway, it looks terrific.

Just stumbled across this, searching for inspiration for a name to give a new devation. I have to say the concept is fabulous. I bet you could improve it, with more luminance, more vibrance. It is VERY good as it is though.

That is something I would be honored to have dedicated to myself. Very nice piece flows beutifully, the light spilling out behiond the broken glass. He must have been very nice guy, hope hes in a better place now, sorry to hear about your loss.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote a story about some kids i think were locked up at home and wanted to go out or something (read it a a long time ago), and they opened up all the faucets in the house and light came out instead of water, and the house was flooded with light, then rivers of light would come out to the streets, and people would sail on light...

I read it in a book named -i guess should be translated to- 12 pilgrim stories.
its a beautiful recollection of stuff g. garcia marquez wrote once and then lost all the originals in a suitcase he forgot somewhere, i think. he tried to remember the stories, and the book is what he remembered of the originals.
