This is from a book I've been putting together that's pretty dear to my heart. I love fairytales, and I also love my girlfriend/fiance of 5 years. It would be nice if some day we could have kids of our own, and there's really no fairytales out there for couples like us besides one (King & King), and so I thought I'd make one for the ladies.The Princess and the Peach is about a knight who goes out to save the princess of the Kingdom Crumble. The knight uses cunning and wits to pacify the dragon who had stolen her, and saves the princess from a crumbling tower. Yet, when the knight removes her helm, she's revealed for a women, yet the princess kisses her anyways and they live happily ever after.

i want to read it!!! and even if the schools won't allow it, i'm sure that many caring and understanding parents will read it to their kids....like me! i don't want my child to grow up in a world of shallow hate and misunderstanding..i would read it to them before bed, and ask questions about rather or not they understand. and i will tell other moms and my friends too!
and if this story gets out far enough, maybe one day, the book would be allowed into schools and into homes of families that are straight.
i mean today, they overturned Prop.8 and that in itself a huge step toward the right direction. and there are projects being made to help gay teens..like 'it gets better' the 'the travor affect' i mean gays are speaking out more and sooner or later, somethings going to have to give and when the day comes, when we will be able to marry, to have our kids free from bullying and our views seen and heard all around the world.
this book will be a stepping stone to a much bigger cause and maybe it could change a few minds! you will never know until you try. so, why not give it a shot!
there are gay books in books stores around the US, admittedly, none for kids, but that's why it's important for you to make one. it will help kids to understand and maybe change the hearts of mothers everywhere, and when those kids get older, they will be more kind to those that are different. but that change has to start from somewhere.

It's not entirely true that there is few fairytales of the theme girl/girl/, boy/boy or "cross-dressing" etc.. the problem for you is probably to find them in the right language.. I know of a swedish publishing-company called "sagolikt bokfΓΆrlag".

(want help to find fairytales etc with samesex/transgender themes just ask.. Got lots of friends who is hype on this as well as my own interest)

I love this idea, it's just too precious. 
Since you mentioned having trouble publishing it, might I suggest starting a Kickstarter or an IndieGoGo campaign to help fund it, if you haven't already considered it already. You could probably find enough backers to get a quality self-published edition of them; I'm also sure you could ask around the self-publishing world for some advice on the matter of what printer to pick. :3
