This is really neat Kay! My favorite part is definitely the background. It's so... Van Goshish! Starry Night-like and all, which is one of my favorite paintings. ^^ The rays of light are very nice as well. I think you did a good job of capturing the fine line that they seem to possess. My only comment is that I don't think they'd curl over the rock on the lower right as you have it. Your uni is cute! If you went just a teensy bit more in depth with shadow and highlight, it would eliminate that kind of floating-in-the-air look he has.
The most praise I have is for that sky and the stones. They're beautiful. Nice work overall!!!

very nice drawing - not only the horse looks well drawn, but also the perpective is fascinating, looking like a forsaken valley, completely untouched and undiscovered, with a sudden abyss at the end .. the large part the night sky with the stars covers adds to the mystical feeling, the unicorn and the perspective are provoking. the perspective looks a bit awkward though, especially the one of the ledge the unicorn is standing on - while the creature looks like it's standing on an even surface, the ledge doesn't seems to be even at all, but rather losing height towards the right. that apart, you sure did a nice job - the lightening stands out in this drawing, from on the borders (the stones on the ledge and the horse itself) you illuminate to the rays one can see near the sun - it looks great! The river is illuminated on places I wouldn't really expect it to (since the rocks would cast shadows there), and also I would probably add a bit more of shading to the horse's belly, to add more depth, but that's no big deal - the texture on the ground is realistic, and the dampened brightness of the sky makes the drawing fit your title very well - bravo

Wonderful lighting. The best part are the rocks...they're so subtlety lit.

That's incredable. Unicorns and horses are sooooo hard to draw. I love the moon (sun?) and it's unearthy glow. It looks almost like a gem shining. The creek, the stone, the sky. Oh drool! This is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!!!!!one.

*impressed whistle* The background IS cool, it looks almost like you did it with chalk, or some such thing. It's a definite cool effect, as is the dual lighting effect, even if it did nearly kill you ^^

This is beautiful! It definetly has an impressionistic flair to it, with all the brush strokes being visable, it really has some emotion in them, and also gives the sky and rocks some texture.
Really stunning colour choices, you have a lot of more neutral colours and then also a large amount of cool colours, but then that sun (which is just done so wonderfully with all the highlights etc) is an excellent contrast of warm colours, off-setting the piece a bit (in a very good way).
Great anatomy on the horse too, their so very hard to draw (well, at least accurately) but you did wonderfully!
