i really like the grain in this photograph, it adds a vintage feel to it, especially for it photographing a somewhat vintage event. i like how it creates the feel that you really could be in a time 80 years from now, or something like that, no evidence of modernism. i also love that this is film, it's quite rare to find other film users here.

Yeah, he had a wonderful way of emoting the dances when he was performing. It's always the thing that seperates the really good from great performances at the upper levels of competition - how the couple present and create emotion within the dance. It's also the thing that makes such great couples the best ones to photograph.

Unfortunately noise is inevitable with the shots from this competition. The lighting at the hall wasn't exactly bright, and so it was flash or 800 ISO. I chose 800 ISO because to be honest I'd rather a photo with some grain than the overexposure flash can and often does create.
