That quote matches this one work for few reasons. Mostly because I did the lineart of that work like... 3 months ago?
Why it took so long to bring a colored one?
Cause:
-I'm lazy.
-I had much things to do on university.
-I'm lazy.
-I had much other artworks to do (still didn't done most of them)
-I'm lazy.
-This piece have it's own detail level and despite my love to details: colouring it took a while

A beautiful character design.
A little critique here; you should increase the thickness of the blade's hilt to ensure it supports the really bulky and heavy-looking chunk of steel there. It looked like it's going to snap once swung. Just a suggestion. Besides, here's another trick.
Thicker hilt = more detail chances. Use this chance to add more striking details to the weapon than just bandages. If not, try add some flow of the bandage (as if some of the bandage came out on the wrapping, making it looked like some sort of old and ancient powerful weapon).
The rest of anatomy on the characters are fine, but I suggest more details on the blonde hair. (It'll make it look nicer for blondies sometimes. XD)

Hehe. There is a little trick behind that. It really was supposed to look fragile on that part but in fact the material used to it is strong enough to easily withstand an even much heavier weapon in combat situation. And also since the hilt is so slim it's much easier to use during the 'turn around' moves which might really get on enemies nerves XD
Yet thanks for the suggestion ^^. I'm happy that someone seen that fact actually.
Also a little add: look at the gold element jointing the spear-like part of weapon with the bladed 'heavy' part. Yep it's able to turn around making the bladed part an extension of overall weapon which means a badass long range of attacks (something like a naginata with really, really, really long blade ^^ )
