Description An example of an effective use of HDR with tone-mapping. The area beneath the stairs was much darker than the sky and normally there would be no way of seeing both in reasonable brightness at the same time. Tone-mapping an HDR image of the scene let's us have contrast in both areas, and everywhere in between. No more washed out sky or blacked out shadows!

Oh, and if you think you see a ghost dog walking by in the image, don't worry, it's not your imagination.

How do you find CS4 for HDR? I am not a fan of photomatix, and currently blend exposures manually in Elements 6.

CS4 has an option to "Merge to HDR" in the "File" menu under "Automate". You just select photos from the dialog to include and tell it whether or not you want it to try to align the photos for you and it does the rest automatically.
