A pappenheimer rapier, without knuckle guard and a slim, elongated pommel so to be suitable also for the study of Thibault.

I would not want to be struck with that pommel, excellent construction! 

And we are our own worst critics, don't be so hard on yourself. Your steel is beautiful, and the customer loved it.

Far from perfect, I can only see all the small faults, but mine, as for all the other artisan, it a lifelong, vane quest for perfection

I'm interested in Thibault and I very much like pappenheimers, but I wasn't aware you needed an open hilt. Does the knuckle-guard really get in the way? Also, can you fit a rubber tip on the end of this blade? Do you advise that for fencing practice?

Sorry for the late reply, anyway, yes, the knuckle guard can really get in the way. A rubber tip is easily put on. I've been training in HEMA for the last 10 years, all of them are made for practice, the blades flex and are all safe enough
