Description Cinnamon Black Bear
Highway 1A, Banff National Park

Okay, so Grant and I are driving down highway 1A towards Banff and we see a lot of cars on the side of the road.
If there is 5 cars and under its usually elk or deer. If there is 5-15 cars its a bear. As we were coming around the corner I said "ooo i think there is a bear.. oh no maybe not people are out of their cars".
We pull past the field and saw this beautiful bear just minding its own business. The field was semi tree lined and there were people standing on the road between the ditch and the field .. semi smart but still dumb.. and then there were the realllllly "SMRT" people so stood IN the field.

This lady was my favourite.

Just a couple minutes after i took this photo the bear was spooked and ran into the bush.. (which was about 20 feet in front of where the dumb lady was standing)

This photo was taken from out the sunroof while commenting loudly enough for dumb lady to hear.. to NOT go in the field with the bear.

Love the picture...and the story about the Darwin award hopeful in blue. (I wish I had a picture of all the tourons I've seen do similar over the years...my personal favorite was the woman in Yellowstone who was trying to shoo a big old bull buffalo away from the road so she could get through with her little sports car...I had the camera set for a tossing photo opp but alas the bison seemed indifferent)

Cool shot!
I saw one of these guys just a couple of days ago... just his butt though as he ran off the road lol
Tourist never seem to stop amazing me with there brilliance, lol! they should have a sign when you enter the park saying "If you get eaten trying to get too close to a wild animal then you deserve it" lol

Had a really close encounter with a cinnamon bear on a trail just outside Canmore.... the trail was lined with dense willows on both side and as I came around the corner there he was about 15-20 feet from me! he stood up and we just stood there and stared at each other, both kinda frozen for a minute or 2 then he took off into the bush! Of course at this moment I realized I had my camera, a 100-500 mounted on a tripod there just sitting on my shoulder, DOH! lol.

HAHHAHA!.. guaranteed if you moved to take a picture, it would have charged tho. They do need a sign or photos lining the entrances of the parks.

bums are cute

When I lived up on the mountain we lived about 5 miles from the "Transfer Station", which was where we took our trash, then it was hauled from there to a landfill.

Every spring we'd see multiple bears there. Black, brown and cinnamon. They would wake up from their winter nap and the first place they would head to was the Transfer Station because it was easy pickin's.

The cinnamon ones were always my favorite.

Cinnamon black bears are so pretty. It must have been really cool to see one...and to get a shot!

That woman deserves to be punched in the face.

So the bear can be euthanized for being aggressive?
