Description This is my first stackstitch experiment ^^ 4 stacks of 4 photos, which is to say 12 in all, went into this.

I took 4 photos at 4 angles relative to my cat. I used PhotoAcute to obtain one noise-free image from each stack, until I had a series of 4 noise free images. I then stitched the stack series in Photomatix, and cropped to a 4:3 aspect ratio in Photoshop. I then lightly edited it to increase the contrast and brightness, as well as bring out the shadows and reflections near her paw.

It took quite a bit of time, but the result is a photo with no noticeable noise, despite the photos being taken at ISO 400, and incredible depth of field. The photo is 19.8 megapixels, whereas my camera only goes up to 12. A full-frame camera with that resolution would surely cost more than five thousand dollars...I just used my head (and a handful of programs). This operation was a success!

Too bad the stackstitch technique can't make my cat any less fat!
