Description Got no use for this cue so I thought I'd put it here to fill my recent lack of submissions a little. Maybe there's someone who likes it! The cue was written at one night.

Beautiful, moving music. I was worried at the beginning that it would become too repetitive, but it changed, so all is well there. Those chord progressions were delicious!

I've downloaded this for my "relax" playlist. Thank you for sharing it.

Thanks a lot! I'm no fan of repetitive music as well.

The beginning here is great, very soft, draws the listener in. The section right afterward is a bit weak, but then the first climax kicks in and transports the listener to heaven, or paradise, or any of the fanciful places this song could take you. I could be picky and complain about some mixing issues, but this is a song that is simply beautiful beyond words, and the melody transcends production values, in a score that could single-handedly make any film scene amazing. This is incredible.

Yes, the mix is a pretty wonky and probably suffers from overcompression a little. I'm glad you enjoyed it nevertheless. Thanks a million Erik!

Yes, someone already told me that this has a certain FF vibe because of some typical jazz chords I've used here. Glad you enjoyed it!

Very beautiful piece. Was this done with Hollywood Strings?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Danman87 In reply to Ithica-Vox [2010-05-23 23:18:24 +0000 UTC]

Yep, only with the light patches though. Unfortunately my system can't handle it.

That's too bad. I just got the Complete Composers Collection (because of the anniversary sale), and am in the process of installing it at the moment. I really hope that my system can handle it. I've already done some stuff with SD2 and VOP, and can't wait to start working with the other stuff.

Danman87 In reply to Ithica-Vox [2010-05-24 10:26:00 +0000 UTC]

If you got a system with at least 4GB of RAM then it shouldn't be a problem! Hollywood Strings however plays in a completely different league in terms of system load and can only be used properly with an ultra high-end system. Eastwest even updated their system requirements for HS to an i7 Processor with 16GB RAM and an SSD drive.

Ithica-Vox In reply to Danman87 [2010-05-24 14:30:21 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's a lot of power needed for Hollywood Strings!!! Hopefully you'll be able to get your new system soon, and then use the strings to their full capacity.

I'm using a laptop at the moment, and I believe that it only has 2GB. It struggles a bit sometimes with loading some of the patches, but it'll have to do for now. I'll eventually get a better computer.

The-Physicist-PL [2010-05-23 18:01:14 +0000 UTC]

The beginning sounds like from typical romantic drama but is still very well made. But when I've listened whole track I realized how epic it is. It is great piece of music. I imagine it, as used at the end of the movie, when main character is returning home.

I really need to ask You. When you are composing, are You doing this for some particular movie?

woah dude what reverb setting did you use? Cause this is AMAZING!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Danman87 In reply to aniu22 [2010-05-23 17:14:02 +0000 UTC]

There's no reverb, at least on the strings. I can't activate it because it crashes my PC.

This one's a declined demo for EWQL Hollywood Strings. I submitted it really late and was told that they already got too many cues in this style. Now I've got to wait because my current PC can't handle the software yet (I can only load 1 patch and the RAM is full). The library is amazing though... if any PC can handle it.

wow dude that totally blows! I did get a new computer that can handle Hollywood Strings but its not compatible with my keyboard so im pretty much stuck until i get a new one. Are you going to try to make another demo? or is it just way to much

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Danman87 In reply to aniu22 [2010-05-23 17:25:38 +0000 UTC]

Definitely, actually I'm obliged to do so. They want to hear some adventure stuff from me that I'll start to work on soon! Right now I'm doing cues for a videogame to gather some money for a new system first. A PC with 16GB RAM and an SSD drive is highly recommended if you want to run it. Probably the most memory consuming thing I've ever seen!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aniu22 In reply to Danman87 [2010-05-23 17:29:57 +0000 UTC]

16GB of RAM?!? thats like super computer!!! mine only had 8GB of RAM and now im unsure if it can run it that well. How well is the video game coming?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Danman87 In reply to aniu22 [2010-05-23 17:53:02 +0000 UTC]

The game is coming along pretty well! And yeah, there are single patches in HS that take up to 1.5 GB of RAM. So I'm not sure if 16GB are even enough yet.

Sampled legato intervals, string runs and full control of the expression and vibrato of a played note. If you are a beginner you shouldn't bother much with it, but when it comes to making your string orchestra sound like a recorded one HS is the way to go.
