I really like your use of darkened colors to create a nighttime atmosphere. The grayish-blue in the background looks really good. The wolf looks awesome, too, with the highlights creating a bit of fur texture while still looking pretty dark. The trees that he's guarding almost look like a gateway to something... it's really interesting.
