Great designs. Do you have any designs for the regular bird-folk whom we have glimpsed in the city? Or maybe Horus, Vultare's aide?

I see you have the wings coming out from high at the waist in back. This actually makes a LOT more sense than the traditional "wings at the shoulder blades" design most people use. (*fake Brooklyn accent* I plead guilty, yer Honor, I was jus' makin' sure people got what I was doin'!)

why do waist high wings make more sense than shoulder blade wings?

(Wow, it's been a while since I posted this here...)

Consider that real life birds only have two wings and two legs. Therefore the distribution of mass is relatively centered when they're on the ground. (I'm not currently versed enough in the mechanics of bird flight to go in that direction. YET.)

If these six-limbed avians had their wings coming out the shoulder blades they would be top-heavy, making walking awkward due to balance issues (possible counterbalance by a tail is possible, but they'd all be peacocks then). Their arms would also be flapping about during flight, due to the movements required by their shoulder and chest muscles. It's hard to aim a blaster rifle or throw a spear if your arms are jerking about while you're firing or throwing.

The top-heavy thing also comes into play where aesthetics are concerned. Case in point, those so-called bodybuilders who have huge upper torsos but neglect lower body exercises. Chicken legs, indeed!

This model eliminates pretty much all the visual problems, although I'm not 100% on the actual physiology... but it's an animated series, not 100% subjected to actual physical/biological laws.ย

Aaaaand now I'm wondering about hybridization among sentient species in the ThunderVerse. DAMN YOU, FAN FICTIONEGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY, FOR GIVING ME IDEAS!

When I seen the ships, I instantly thought it's the Silverhawks... but nope.
