Canaan is really cool, but his story is so sad. >.> I didn't like him when I first played XSII, but after XSIII, I really started to warm up to him.

lol, same here! in XS2 I really liked chaos and Canaan was kinda mean to him, but later I realized he was just like that with everyone. xD he grew on me.
and people wear chaos out and ignore Canaan for some reason so I was like PSH fine I'LL like him. x]

Heh heh. Canaan's an interesting character; I like chaos better, but when Canaan's full story was revealed, it was quite a plot twist. The end of Episode III was really sad. >.>

chaos WAS my favorite, but what he turned out to be in III made me not so fond of him anymore, that was just weird. :/ I didn't like a lot of the crap they pulled in III actually, I loved all the games and played all the way through them then BAM religious crap wtf.

I didn't like it BECAUSE that's the kind of stuff I actually believe in, and I didn't like how they portrayed God as this unintelligent red ooze trying to understand humans, wtf.
chaos was my favorite character until he turned out to be God's power or some weird shit and then I changed my mind. Wilhelm is my second favorite but I don't like his anti-God crusade. It bothers me, I don't consider this stuff fiction that you can twist however you want...
so I ended up liking Canaan the best because aside from his name he's not involved with the religious stuff whatsoever. xD

I sit like that at my computer chair all the time so one day I decided to draw it. xD
I learned anatomy the same way I learned to draw everything else: by looking at it. :3 Diagrams of muscles are totally useless to me, but looking at anime and drawings and sometimes people in real life helps a lot. I use myself as reference sometimes, too. xD;;
Though some animes make better anatomical references than others. <.< Xenosaga works great but I don't recommend learning anatomy by studying YuGiOh or Shamen King. xD lol.

I really like this!!! You might just wanna press lighter on the pencil possibly? I rarely use color pencils anymore cause they always end up not looking right -_-
I like the background! The simplicity and shadedness of it expresses the tone of the character himself, as well as the overall composition!
And straight lines sucks -_- they are boring (and it has nothing to do with the fact that I fail at drawing them as well *ahem*) But the whole tilt of the background border, as well as the boxes etc gives the picture only more of a very nice artistic feel.
And the shading on the character himself is good, I like him.

For some dumb reason, DA tried it's hardest to keep me from looking at it in fullview. >.<
And I'm not critiquing, but getting a ruler or something hard and straight with a flat corner, and tracing the edge of it helps..
I have that problem too when I do things like that. But it's still hard to get your lines to meet up when you're doing a border box thing like that...
But anyway, You know, I kind of LIKE how the lines aren't straight around the edges. It gives it something, you know?
But anyway. my scanner kills orange as well. It makes it SO ugly. >.<
So don't feel that bad.
Besides, it being reddish kinda makes it look like he's in a darker room. ^^
How you shade that evenly with crayolas I'll never know. XD;;;
