In my stories, Rae is still the misanthropic basketcase we all know and love. But she came to accept herself for what she was and opened her heart to someone who felt the same. The costume was meant to signify the fact.

The picture started as a simple test pencilsketch sent to me by PALComix when we were finalizing the costume design. It was never meant to be anything final. As it turned out, I thought the sketch was great and asked if they could ink and color it for me. Any complaints about layout can be directed towards me.
As for the costume. In my stories, its ten years after the cartoon. Raven gets married (to an equally screwed up individual) and they run off to Atlanta. She discarded her old costume as she felt it just screamed "Teenager"...not to mention it chaffed something fierce. I just wanted more of a classical "Magical User" look. In fact, Im brainstorming another story where she changes her costume again. I just enjoy making characters evolve and give them depth. Ex: Did you know she's ticklish?

I was searching sooo long for this picture since I saw it for the first time. Did you know someone put her in exactly this costume in a crossover fanfic with Naruto? ^^
However, I really love that outfit. And it's definately not sluty! Many people wonder why such a "closed" being as Raven wears skintight latex - which includes that longsleeve-swimsuit from the cartoon. But seriously, she's a beautiful girl and who can blame her for showing of?
