My favorite shot of the Tali costume I made and my wife wore for PAX Prime 2010. Minimal touch up with some color balancing.Thank you James Tang for taking the picture!

Where did you get the purple cloth? Obviously it had to be custom ordered because that pattern is specifically only from Bioware. But Im curious where you got it. Im working on a Tali cosplay myself

They are EVA foam coated with latex enamel.

wow, amazing. I have done some make up test for kasumi, all thanks to the fact that I havea friends who's a makeup artist. As for the costume...it's coming...I gave up and ordered from Crabcat. I didn't realize how much there was to that costume...I am a noob when it comes to sewing...LOL. How did you make the gun? I am wnating to make one for Kasumi.

The gun is made of Pink Insulation foam. Primarily because I did not have access to proper wood working tools. If I had the option I would have made it out of wood and plastic sheets.

Having worked with pinkfoam before, I can tell you've got some coating on it to seal it for painting. What did you use? You had mentioned using resin for the helmet, are all the props made with that?
Also: great idea with the silver-pen painting. Much easier than fabric paint and a cleaner look too!

I sealed it with latex paint. Though if I were to do it again I would have used a slowish setting two part plastic resin.

Aha! Unfortunately I know so many people who are allergic to latex that I forget that it is an option. I'm always a little nervous about resin, some types do strange things to foam x.x

Oh wow! I haven't played Mass Effect yet but I watch my husband do it all the time and I have to say that Tali is my favorite out of all the characters! I wish I was any good at making costumes. I'm still only able to sew small things. I really like it! Good job!

The Tali in the photo is my wife and she was a bit reluctant to play Mass Effect also. Once she started though she was hooked. The game is very compelling from the beginning to the end.
