Description I really like this image and story. It takes a boy playing an innocent game with his mother and taking it to a level that represents danger and confusion. Some people ask why I don't draw my subjects with more smiles. It's because I'm always trying to get "that look" ... a stare of concern, excitement, fear and confusion. I guess I'm just trying to recapture a moment from my past.

Can you imagine having that conversation with someone who controls your life? Scary stuff!

Perhaps a dominant boyfriend, a year younger and 5 inches shorter.Β  Comfortable with him being a boy.Β  Someone who the shorter, younger boy can boss around the kitchen and bedroom.Β

Maybe it's time mother presented her reluctant ward around as a real girl to help find that boyfriend? Β I think a boyfriend, or man friend is just what our little hero requires.

Thank you! I looooove his little dress so much. When I was a boy they were more common ... and I did NOT like wearing them back then. But now ... looking back ... it wasn't all that bad.

And the dress is so outrageously girly, and the light make up, and boys hair brushed to look pretty. Can he keep his resistance up; or will he give in and start learning to love it?

"Squirmy" is exactly what I was going for. I'm not a great artist. I do know the feeling, though, and I work hard to "get it right."

Thanks for noticing!

"Forget what your friends might think, darling; what do YOU think? I can tell from the way you're squirming you just love wearing that pretty dress. Of course you do! Boys can't wear anything that feels as soft and lovely. I am going to take you shopping with me and buy you some really pretty lingerie to wear underneath it. I just know you'll love it. It's such fun being a girl."

but what about dad though? what would he think if he found out?

Funny you should ask. Some fathers raise hell. Some don't care. Some go along with it. Some just ignore it. Some do a little bit of each, then give up and spend a lot of time on the road with their job and pretend everything is fine until they screw around and get caught up in divorce proceedings and then they have other things to worry about than their only son spending his Saturdays doing chores around the house in an old hand-me-down dress.

Or so I'm told.

Poor kid.Β  I kinda sorta know the feeling.Β  My dad kinda sorta had his son, but my stepmother had a housekeeper and dress up doll and whipping boy.Β  I hated it then, but now ... I really miss it.Β  More than one might imagine.Β  Ah, such is the life of the masochist.Β

Do you love those memories now?Β  Or do you resent them?Β  I'm quite curious.Β  Feel free to private message me.Β

I totally understand your feelings.Β  Boys are jerks.Β  Well, most of them.Β  Occasionally you find a cute one who isn't and that is a treasure, indeed!

that or they could be like my dad, it all depends on the reason, or rather excuse... if my Dad saw my mom doing this too me, she'd get the 'What the hell is with you?' conversation or the 'I understand, you wanted a girl, but sadly that hasn't heppened yet' speech.

but if it was of the boy's own volition, it'd turn to violence or the 'What the F*** is wrong with your head you retard?'

Well, I don't mind, I rather them to be confused and concerned meow ^Β¬^ It's more exciting.

In fact, if they are happy just like that, I loose all the interest in the picture, it turns boring to me
as then there is no difference between a crossdressed boy or just another girl.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Daphnesecretgarden In reply to Feliciameow [2011-03-10 03:27:21 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for that. That is exactly my feeling. Life is complex ... and interesting. It's the same with storytelling and art. I don't dress anymore, but when I did, it was never boring.

After all, if it was, why do it?

You both express how I feel, as well. I enjoy a CD tale more when the boy (or man) does not go willingly. I like the apprehension, the discomfort, of him acutely aware others know he is simply a boy in a dress, or that others might find out.
