This is a very nice piece. It has a real sense of depth and form while keeping with your trademark graphic style.
The skull in particular has a very nice sense of form, the way the light logic falls around it, shading the sides of the cranium to push them back and on the sides of the jaw to push them back under the cheekbones, while letting the chin still protrude. The speckled highlights not only helps turn the form, but adds a nice sugary texture that I can feel and taste just by looking at it. And of course there's a subtle shadowy region on the background just below the skull which helps the illusion.
The roses are nicely done, and varying the angles helps convince the eye that these are three dimensional objects turning in space, while the proportional varyation gives it a sense of depth.
The musical staves flow through the composition, guiding the eye. They're a bit even in size and are all shown straight on, and for me this is the only thing flattening this piece out just a little, but I'm nitpicking at this point. Congratulations on having no backwards notes! I'm assuming you either play music or looked at actual music. Either way, you've done your research. Nothing says amateur like funky looking music notes, so I'm glad you've passed that test!

Yep, the notes should always look like d or p. Never b or q.
Or just copy sheet music, but be sure to pick a good tune, hopefully something relevant to the subject matter, because musicians WILL try to read it, so why not give them a little Easter egg?
