These days, decorated fir trees are a symbol for Christmas in large parts of the world. Even before Christmas was a "thing", trees were often part of winter celebrations. Whether you celebrate religiously, culturally or not at all, I hope you ended 2015 on a high note, surrounded by the people you love.
I took this photo a couple days after Christmas, when I saw the evening sun hit the fir trees outside my window in a magical way. No editing other than colour correction and crop.

every time you submit something, i end up staring at it. i just can't help it. you submit less that i would love to see, but every time is a celebration.

I tend to overthink stuff - including uploading. "Should I upload this? It's completely different than the last one. I don't really like it that much. But it's kind of interesting. Maybe I should upload it. But now which one of the landscape shots should I upload? Or should I upload multiple? But I don't want to spam everyone. So just one. Now, which one...." and then I end up giving up before I've actually come to a decision. 
But I am working on this, I think in the next couple of weeks I will be uploading so much, even your generosity might be taxed.
Oh, and (belatedly), a Happy Birthday from me! I saw the pre-Birthday announcement on dA but then I totally missed the day itself. I hope you had a wonderful one!

ahah olivia don't tell me about overthinking, it's my usual state of mind when it comes to submissions... i have a shot i love and it's in my vaults since last summer... i'm still on the edge, yes, no, yes, no.
well after reading you, i think it will be yes
and thank you for your wishes, even if my birthdays are so many now that it would better to forget about them, it is always a real pleasure when you know a friend had a thought about you
