Description I dare you to let go of your daily routines
Wait for a warm and sunny day
And leave the TV off when you come home that night
Put on old jeans instead
Take the car, and drive out to the countryside.

Find a field, a forest, a river
And settle down on the plain earth.

Listen.
Can you hear the birds, the bees, the crickets?
It's the sound of life.

Look.
Can you see the wind play with the grass?
And how those clouds move overhead, a protective blanket pulled over us?

Feel.
Imagine life as a bee, a blade of grass, a beam of morning sun.
Close your eyes and be.

And I promise, you will come home with a smile on your face.

The depth of field you used in this is absolutely perfect! The colours and tones and slight blurs create an almost hazy feeling. Exactly how I can imagine feeling on a warm lazy summer day wonderful!

yes it's something we all should do more often.
however it's a bit difficult to have a sunny day, it seems... we are being flooded here, tomorrow schools will be closed and we have emergency plans at work...

anyway, a beautiful pic. the sepia background and the completely blurred flowers in the foreground make in special. one more instant

You are being flooded? Wow. That's ... different. We had a rainy week last week, but the sun is back now. We had a short and hefty thunderstorm with raindrops the size of hazelnuts (lovely! I'm into storms almost as much as I'm into sunshine), but fortunately it only lasted a couple of minutes.

I hope you're not in an effected area? Like, your house isn't under water?

And to what you said about the picture: thanks.

luckily my house is safe; in turin we had some minor flooding (maybe i wouldn't say minor if it was my house anyway), but on the mountains around we count some victims of rivers and landslides and it is the most serious flooding after the terrible one in 2000.
thanks for caring

Good to hear you're safe. We haven't had serious floods in Switzerland for ages, but I was in England last year when half of England was being swept away. It was crazy.

Is the flooding over now?

the flooding happened the last weekend of may, now things are better, even if this is the most rainy late spring i can remember, and there are still problems here and there.... now we'd need some sun to warm our bones a little

We've been having a wild mix of warm sunnyness and heavy rain in pretty short intervals. You can sit outside shortsleeved, and just a couple of minutes later it'll rain cats and dogs and you're caught in the must beautiful (but unexpected and very, very wet) thunderstorm.

Crazy that Italy should not have sun, being like the California of Europe.

eheh it looks like no california here this year
and i am neginning to be afraid that the usual open air jazz concert season will be crippled...

When does the season start? There's still time for the sun to catch up. It might become one of the hottest summers ever because the sun feels it has to make up for the rainy spring.

well today we have a temperature we would expect at the end of march, maybe. i have noticed that if the stable sunny days do not begin at least in the second half of may, the summer is probably going to be rainy.
which is a massacre for open air concert, as i said...
