The command from the woman looming over here caused Aloren to hesitate for a moment. In that same moment, a surge of energy from the man beneath her caught her by surprise and dislodged her. Taking the initiative now, he leveraged Aloren onto her back and reversed the situation they had just been. However, rather than raining blows down on the girl he fought to control her hands and pin her down.

"Don't shoot! Just stun her," he barked at the woman. Aloren fought and struggled, but her psionic strength was outmatched by the armored man leaving the contest in the realm of the physical where she was completely outmatched.

"Got it," the woman in white replied sharply as she crouched beside the pair and extended her hand towards Aloren's head. A faint violet aura extended from the woman's fingertips and engulfed Aloren's head. Aloren's body jolted and her head fell back heavily into the floor with a thud. All at once her resistance stopped and she fell limp. "Shit," the woman muttered.

"How hard did you hit her?" the man asked, his helmeted head jerking to the side accusingly.

"Not that hard," she protested. "I was expecting a barrier, but she didn't have one." She gave a slow and brief shake of her head. "She's fine, though, just unconscious."

"Right," the man answered, moving to heft the girl over his shoulder. "We're done here then. Time to go."

"On it. Path's still clear," she reported as she stuck her head out into the hallway, not relying on the sensors they'd left along their path behind them. "Poor kid," she muttered as they stepped out into the hall back towards the rest of their team and waiting transport.
