Given that the grey wolf was recently taken off the endagered list after a major comeback, I won't be counting many's favorite.
Maned wolves and mexican wolves are the most critically endangered, last time I checked. Looking back on it, I should not have said "a majority" like I did. There are roughly 6,000 gray wolves in the continental U.S., according to the Fish and Wildlife Service . About 8,000 to 11,000 roam Alaska, where they go unprotected.

So while a majority of gray wolves and their subspecieses are out there, the majority of them are not protected by law. (Mostly in alaska)

How is the maned wolf even a wolf except in name? Coyotes and golden jackals are more closely related to gray wolves than the maned wolf is.

I guess that's my bad then, sorry for starting this conversation back up again.

It's easy to prove these people (wolf lovers) wrong, but the replier was very, very polite and patient. I applaud this person. Who was it? I need to give them a llama

This just deserves some serious facepalm.

... honestly though title a little unfair... Creationist is not a dirty word, and not all of us are silly.

I think reintroducing the prey and relocating the wolves will just be another cane toad problem.

Wolfaboos are so retarded. I lol at them. They say all these things over the internet about SAVE THE WOLVES and sit on their lazy ass at home and don't do anything about it. If they want to save a wolf, then they can spend their money and time doing that.

Shows how compassionate they are if they care about stupid wolves that there are too many of and don't care about the population of elk. I love how you underlined all the wolfaboo logic in here. "The gray wolf is endangered" If your going to love something, get your facts straight. Utterly ridiculous. They are just ignorant, I really support whoever was telling them off, they are very intelligent and have done their research on the topic.

Fucking hate how stupid people tend to be. If the wolf population was not controlled, we'd see a huge boom in it then a huge fall in their prey's population.

Then the wolves all starve and turn into cannibals..

It's funny that you compared them to a creationist in that they really need a "reality check" in a way.
I mean do these people even really read any real things about wolves? They just seemingly seem to feed of the positive media on them and PETA-like bullcrap.

My favorite thing about hardcore wolf fans is that they typically don't know the first thing about wolves.

Like all the ones who say wolves are endangered, or that they love wolves for their beautiful blue eyes. Goddamn.

Dark-Hyena In reply to Skittycat [2010-04-20 17:58:54 +0000 UTC]

What really needs debunking is that wolves are nature's sanitarians. Hello?? Have they even heard of Echinococcus granulosus?

"Activist" doesn't mean "I argue with all the big meanies who disagree with me on the internet".
I love all the wolfaboo armchair warriors, because they're like broken records.

Pity on the arguer, they tried to bring logic in where it doesn't belong.

Don't forget becoming vegetarians... they claim to be activist and become vegetarians... Then they completely run out of ammo and bitch when slapped with facts.

AcidConfetti In reply to Rina-ran [2010-04-20 23:12:29 +0000 UTC]

Well I hate to inform them that their precious soy products are cutting down the rain forest so they can 'Save animal lives' when they're just destroying a disappearing ecosystem. If you wanna be a vegetarian, go ahead, I could care less. But when you bitch and throw it in people's faces then you deserve to eat a burger, then someone tell you it was actually beef.

SizzyBubbles In reply to Rina-ran [2010-04-20 18:25:45 +0000 UTC]

it bothers me that people seem to blindly think that vegetarian/vegan = animal lover.

Maybe they just become stupid do to malnutrition.

momopocky In reply to SizzyBubbles [2010-05-01 06:24:23 +0000 UTC]

I was born vegetarian.
It seems like I'm lying or trying to be "deep", but, I promise I'm not . Both my parents became vegetarians before I was born, so in turn I was born vegetarian.

ANYWAY, on to my main point, I agree with you.
Though, half the people I know who became vegetarians did do it because they "LOVE DA ANIMALS!!1!", yet they can barely stick to being vegetarian for a month.

I love animals, but I agree that certain families and species' populations have to be controlled, otherwise it affects other organisms greatly.

Very cool. Yeah i have met a few people that never really ate a whole lotta meat to begin with. So it was never really an issue.

Exactly. It never lasts. That and its just plain unhealthy to cut all that meat out of your diet cold turkey. What also gets me is that some "vegetarians" find it ok to eat fish and other seafood. Hey, those are animals too buddy!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

momopocky In reply to SizzyBubbles [2010-05-03 00:52:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's unhealthy to cut anything cold turkey!

Heh, it's like the opposite with me! I have to eat more beans and such to get the protein that would generally come from eating fish.
But, yes, fish is meat too!
