Aren't we all? I mean, I like Maleficent, Aladdin and The Jungle Book, but the rest are so-so.

I definitely agree with the Jungle Book remake being good; it's actually pretty much the only remake I truly liked. I even saw the Aladdin remake in theatres. It was pretty decent, and while Will Smith did fine as Genie (when he's not in Genie form), he's definitely no Robin Williams. The Lion King remake, however...I admit that I was really hyped on it, but after the movie premiered, I was like "I got all hyped up for this?"

im kind of in the same boat as you are here, I honestly dont mind Disney doing live action versions of their animated classics just as long.....
1.as they dont remake movies that doesn't NEED to be revised in live action (I.E. the lion king) because the OG film had elements that worked better in animation such as the reason I was not on board with the live action lion king movie was becasue a movie about all animals is better off animated because in live action animals can't show facial expressions hence a live action version of the lion king would come out bland and boring
2.they dont take away what made the original great by changing and removing elements from the OG film that didn't need to be changed (its why im not super hyped for nor do I intend to see the new mulan movie I mean I love mulan and all but I hear there REALLY making some unnecessary changes for that movie)

Personally for me it depends
I thought Jungle Book was pretty good because it improved on some of the flaws the original had. However I will admit I didn't like the ending and the way they did the songs (I feel like in that movie they should have left out the songs) but for the most part it was a solid remake also the kid who played Mowgli is a pretty good actor. Pete's Dragon was also a pretty huge improvement to the original (though I haven't seen the original buuut from the looks of it the remake is an improvement)
I thought Cinderella was okay it does some things right (such as giving the prince more character and cutting out the filler) but so many things wrong (especially what they tried to make Cinderella a "stronger" character when in reality they made her a weaker character).
With Maleficent it had an interesting concept but horrible execution making Maleficent a good guy was just very stupid. I didn't even bother to watch the sequel because of how much I hated this movie.
I also agree with Beauty and the Beast and Lion King (Didn't see it but I could tell it was bad).
Jlongbone's video on the Beauty and the Beast remake was way better than the actual movie she pretty much summed up everything I hate about it. It's mostly Emma Watson she just makes Belle into a self insert

I can understand not liking Burtonland, but why not Rebooty and the Beast? Curious.

Emma Watson’s shitty acting, horrible auto-tuned singing, terrible CGI, and a huge lack of chemistry between the two leads.

Huh, I could never tell the difference with auto tuning myself, and I thought Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellen alone carried the bulk of it...and it solved a LOT of story problems. What happened to Belle's mom? Plague. Why were the servants cursed too? They didn't do anything to stop the Prince's asshole dad, even if it would have been right. Why didn't anyone else go looking for them? The Enchantress made everyone forget. Really, the only thing I had any issue with was...and I'mma get some flack for this...but I think they made LeFou gay just to push an agenda. I mean, we all made jokes he was gay for Gaston in toe original...but IDK if he should have been for real...but I watch Steven Universe, what do I know?

Honestly, I thought LeFou was one of the only good things about the BatB remake, but that might be because I’m a fan of Josh Gad.

I'm glad to see that you are evaluating Disney's live-action remakes on a case-by-case basis. Cinderella is the best, and I would rank 101 Dalmatians in second place. Out of curiosity, what did you think of the live-action remake of Dumbo? That was a remake that I did not enjoy.

Haven’t seen the Dumbo remake, but after seeing a few clips, and hearing a lot of bad things about it, I don’t plan to.
