A drawing of my character Narcissus Jonquil. Surprisingly I used no reference (which is why I KNOW there are a lot of things off) but itβs not too bad. I colored the lines on Photoshop and added the blue background aspect and other colors on SAI.Related content

I don't know about a lot of things being off, the only thing that might be would be the shoulders being a little narrow, but they're definitely passable proportions. I think this picture looks fantastic. It's very neatly drawn, has a fantastic amount of detail without being too busy looking, and the composition is very visually pleasing. It, in all honesty, is one of your best pictures yet. The clean precision of the lines is probably the most appealing thing because you took the time to make sure every line in here was clean. Even the almost messy lines are careful and it just makes his proper appearance look even more refined. The more I look at this picture, the more I love it. Please draw more things with this amount of patience and have more faith in your skills. This looks great, you don't need references to be amazing, clearly.Β

Haha, thank you so much! I'm sorry for the late reply. I always appreciate your critiques. Thanks a lot for analyzing this the way you did. I will certainly try to stop rushing. It's just so tempting to rush though because I worry too much about my galleries being too inactive and I don't always have a lot of time at once to calm down and work on one drawing at a time with utmost care. Sometimes I do but I would have to wait until late at night to early in the morning if I don't have to worry about another class or homework or something. I just don't know how others manage to create consistent quality works with their work schedules and responsibilities to worry about or if they're also still taking classes. I burnout just like that these days. ;u;

Yep, I sure am. I am taking 14 credit hours and for full time it's 12-13. It's not the credit hours that truly bug me though but it's the fact that pretty much each class I have requires me to use my brain and come up with my own art projects, find something to say in my art history papers read and figure out what this kiddie Chemistry book is telling me and remember Chinese (my second language there). It's like I hardly ever have a break and I end up wasting time online looking at other stuff just to see if I can get my mind more "activated" or inspired or something. Thanks for your concern. I'll try to figure something out. I mean, it's already one more half left in the semester.
