Thankyou, I hadn't really worked out how to portray light very well when I painted this, although I do now... so maybe at some point I will repaint a similar version but with some little lanterns in the trees...

I love the use of purple! You did such a good job of making it fade into the distance, and the silver accents are a nice touch! I also really like the style the trees are done in and how you did the shadows for them.

The shapes created by the branches of the trees as they fade into the background is really beautiful. The wings and the outfit look so delicate. Lovely soft colour scheme. I love the way the path curves upwards at both sides, kind of enclosing everything within the picture.

Beautiful work. I gravitated to this piece because of the off-centered composition. I really like the way the branches and the movement of her shimmery clothing leads the eye around. The pervading purple tone is very nice, it unifies the image.

hey, I took your advise and increased the contrast... the actual painting has greater contrast to it anyway, for some reason the scan just looked a little washed out!

It's funny this person was complaining about the size 7 1/2 years ago... now I'm always like, more, bigger! It's nice that there's a good large original image available for downloading here.
