You're welcome, and thank you! Yeah, I wouldn't want to judge that contest, I was surprised by how many entries there are... though I wonder if the traditional/digital paintings will lose out to the photo manips as usual

I saw someone else on the avaloncommunity home page commenting that there was a preference for photomanip... this is the first contest ive entered though, so I dont really know what people go for! Im working on two large paintings and two small watercolours at the moment

Unfortunately I've noticed that photo manips tend to win out over paintings... I respect photo manipulators but it seems like a shame!!! Well I hope your painting kicks butt, as it deserves
Wow, working on four paintings at once... you go girl! I tend to work at one at a time, though in these last two weeks, I'll start a painting and then not be able to finish it. I'm working on another fairy, though she was impromptu and not one of the ones I'm "supposed" to be working on! I can't wait to see the ones you're working on... the mermaid was so lovely!

Thankyou! I agree about the cat... she didnt stand out so I had to put the white 'moonlight' line arround her, which had the effect of flattening her a bit... I may soften the white line and see if she gets more 3D!

Hmm... maybe smudging more white into the area around the cat very softly and subtly would do the trick. Kind of like a magical outer glow
