I'm flying my colours so that everyone can see,
Isn't this the perfect place to introduce me?

(anyone who can identify where that comes from without reading further into the comments gets a cookie of epic win)

First I send out an apology to *Makio-Kuta . I have 2 glasses characters.

We have also discovered, through intensive questioning at Halloween (because once you're over 12 it is the exclusive right of the treat giver to demand you work for your candy which includes everything up to and including a skill testing question) that our school systems are failing us. Not one child that was asked could name the colours of the rainbow in order. No green is not on top.

So that's what inspired this piece: all Dal Ar Saol characters who were placed based on hair colour and given outfits to match (no their outfits aren't actually all those colours.) Of the 10 characters featured here, 3 are antagonists, and one got their character design while listening to Care Bears music (yes you read that right). I'll leave it to you to sort which is which (but I'll give you a hint, the little girl is none of the above.

Red: Amber - A girl from Lawsonia who set out in search of her missing brother. She's got a volatile personality but for those who can put up with her mood swings, she's a born leader and will defend her friends ferociously.
(I always pictured her a redhead but after this I might re-evaluate that choice... she reminds me too much of Asch)

Orange: Arun and Isra - twins who supposedly guard the shrine in Audra Tower. Although they inhabit the shrine, the real thing they protect is the eons of knowledge that is said to dwell there. Arun is forward and direct while Isra tends to enjoy playing mind games and speaking in riddles. While they tend to drive each other nuts, they take their task very seriously. No one gets past them without their consent.
(Another hair style/colour to re-evaluate - too Luke-ish, and them under Amber doesn't help that fact.)

Yellow: Jashuin (pronounced like Joshua only 'in' instead of 'ah' at the end) - not as young as he looks in this picture, he's actually in his late 20's. A member of the nobility class, he's the only noble to serve as an adviser to the king. Rumor has it he blackmailed the previous king for his position, (which is appointed for life) in order to gain revenge for losing his family in the previous war. He is unusually harsh and his cold and stubborn personality is constantly making things difficult. His character design has a special place in my heart... I've brought him forward through at least 3 other projects each that got abandoned~ hopefully this will be his final home.

Green: Tegwen - probably the character drawn most out of proportion to her importance... I draw her a lot, but she doesn't really have a major role (yet). Very whimsical, she never stays in one place long. She often tries to take on a mother role towards Mya, but Mya resents her and sees her as a hypocrite, as she often does the very things she encourages Mya to abandon.

Blue: Aigyan, Suru and Rua - Three siblings whose parents died in an accident at sea, leaving Aigyan to raise his younger siblings. Rua is a happy go lucky child who loves to explore and dreams of going on adventures. Suru is the rebellious middle child and will do anything if Aigyan tells him not to. He tends to pick on Rua a lot even though he'll be the first in line to defend her if trouble arises. Aigyan is the responsible older sibling who has his hands full keeping the younger two in line. He is perfectly happy to settle down and lead a quiet life, but trouble usually finds him (most often in the form of his younger siblings).

Indigo: Alkyonae - or Kyon, or Kiki depending on who you talk to, though he'll only tolerate being called Kiki by Phaythe. The oldest son of one of the noble houses in the north, he seems to bear a heavy burden but he continuously denies it. Despite his appearance, he despises reading and isn't all that knowledgeable. He is quite talented with water magic, though he seems to resent that talent for some reason. He's soft with a weak spot for someone in trouble.

Purple: Mya - a later plot design and outfit for her, though I dislike how she came out here, I do love the design. Her hair was cut short, but she wears extensions that are a few shades darker than her natural colour. The half jacket took the place of her favourite dress that was ruined, but is a bit more battle friendly.
