Nice perspective, and great colour! The dog really does look like it is sniffing the ocean. It's a shame that the sun is a bit too bright as it prevents a fair bit of the ocean being seen clearly. Nonetheless, a very meaningful piece.

I have a soft spot for animals looking out meaningfully pictures, this is so cute
The only thing I can think of, trying to be helpful-wise, is that you might put a thin inner border (Er, say the black is the outer border, then the white, then the picture, is what I mean)
It'd bring out the highlights better, I think

Wonderful shot! The only thing that would make it better would be a clear definition between sea and sky on the right side of the photo, a smaller aperture would help this out, while keeping the shutter speed the same. The dog would also pop out more from the background, as it would be slightly darker. A circular polarizer would also help with the sky.
I like the feeling in this picture, it's really emotive.

I think the shot and compostion is great. I mean you can't control the sun! and you did a shot that perfectly captured a spontaneous moment. I mean what do people expect you do to. wait for the light to be right and hope your dog is doing the same exact thing later?
