History: Sophie Ryker is the childhood friend of Joe Kido, with whom she shares a strong but strained friendship, as well as a crush on him. She was spending the night at Joe's when both he and she witnessed the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon. This event caused them to be chosen as members of the new Digi-Destined. The destruction created by the battle caused it to be labeled a terrorist attack, and both the Kido and Lionel families moved away from the area. Just like the others, Sophie soon dismisses the battle as a dream.

As she grew up, she could only see Joe during school, and this caused her to turn into the shy girl she was upon her first trip to the Digital World. Other students bullying her certainly didn't help matters, and neither did the passing of her mother, who had died from an terminal illness. Her father soon immersed himself in his work, leading Sophie to be cared for by her uncle George, who treated her as if she were his own daughter. Worried about her, he suggested she go to summer camp, to possibly make friends and come out of her shell. Reluctantly, Sophie agreed.

Personality: Sophie is usually a calm and quiet girl, but does have her moments at being loud, usually when upset or angry. She is very intelligent, possessing an encyclopedic knowledge and excellent analysis skills. Despite this, she doesn't usually give her opinion or knowledge about a matter unless prompted.

She, in truth, is a extremely insecure and shy girl, who just wants to useful in any way she can. She is skittish and easy to scare, but can unexpectedly brave at times. Upon traveling in the Digital World, Sophie's confidence has grown and she's become more determined to do what she wants. She is just as protective of Lopmon as she is her.
