Title means 'I love you' in Russian.Haha, I finally finished a good Russia/Chekov picture!
This picture was largely a series of experiments. Fitting, considering this was done on the final blank page of last year's sketchbook, though the drawing itself is from this week. I tried my hand at a two-color gradient (and a background of sorts as well, which is very unusual for me
) and cel shading. Also, due to...erm, personal reasons, I decided to continue what I did for Christmas and only color in skin where there was shadow. I also did more experiments with coloring hair and blending/sealing with white colored pencil. And it was an experiment with kisses, too.
I rather like the overall effect, though my scanner absolutely killed the yellow and the fact that it was the last page in the book meant the picture had to be cropped quite a bit because of shadows...
By the way, this is my new favorite pairing. Just because TOS Chekov loves his country oh so much, and if the character were indeed bisexual (he's definitely proven time and again he loves women), he would take his fanboying to the next level...or at least a surprise kiss. Also, Russia seems rather in need of someone who really loves him.
This pairing makes perfect sense.

I did check. I personally knew when I was probably between eight and ten years old. Around the time our middle school had its sex ed class. (Which leads to a funny story about how no sex ed class in school actually teaches you how sex works, but, uh, you're too young.
Could be differing classes, though...and my parents. We were raised without TV, so...most people think I'm a lot older than I am. >.>;;
