"He pulled the blood-stained arrow from the ogre's heart and placed it back in it's quiver, ignoring the stinging pain of his own wounds. Then he turned his bright green eyes to the east across the red sands, and there on the horizon was the faint outline of his father's castle. He was close to his goal, at last.
And nothing—be it man or demon— would stand in his way.
Bloodied but not broken, Vance hefted his pack over his shoulder once more and made his way through the blowing desert sands, stepping over the bodies of his slain adversaries."

Eh, just a short little scene from my story. I wanted to do Vance with that melancholy look on his face, and I've wanted to try this pose for a while. This was actually my first attempt at a fully Photoshop'ed background. Can't you tell by the crappines? *lol* Anyway, I didn't draw the castle outline, either. It was a manipulation of a Google'd Castle Bran photo (Dracula's Castle, for those who don't know). Yes, I are teh lazy... And the whispy foggy-looking stuff is supposed to be blowing sand. Go figure. Despite the bloodstains I'm not labeling this as mature because it's not that bad. Hope it's not an issue.
